Applying, vetting &
working with US clients.

FilAm is free for Filipino professionals - no application, assessment, or placement fee. The vetting takes 30–45 minutes and FilAm reviews each profile within 3–5 business days.

Applying to FilAm

Who can apply to FilAm?+
Any Filipino professional who has at least 1 year of professional experience and can work with US-based clients in English. We don't require a degree - we assess on performance, not credentials.
Is there a fee to apply?+
No. FilAm never charges talent. The application, vetting, assessment, and placement are all completely free for you.
How long does the application take?+
The profile setup takes about 10 minutes. The vetting assessment is 30–45 minutes. We'll review your profile within 3–5 business days.
What happens if my application is not approved?+
We'll let you know clearly and honestly. Common reasons include English proficiency below our bar, insufficient tool experience, or a profile that doesn't match current client demand. You can re-apply in 90 days.

The Vetting Process

What is the Ownership Scoreâ„¢?+
Our three-pillar vetting framework: English Proficiency (how you write and communicate async), Tool Expertise (real fluency with Slack, Notion, HubSpot, etc.), and Autonomy Mindset (how you respond to scenario-based questions about handling ambiguity). You need 75+ to be matched.
Is the assessment hard?+
It's designed to surface how you think, not to trick you. The best scores come from people who are direct, proactive, and specific - not from people who give vague or impressive-sounding answers.
Can I retake the assessment?+
Not immediately - we enforce a 90-day wait between attempts to maintain the integrity of the assessment. Use the time to sharpen your tools and practice async communication.

Working with Clients

What kind of roles does FilAm place?+
Operations, project management, sales development, executive operations, customer success, social media, content, bookkeeping, and more. Essentially any senior IC or manager role that doesn't require physical presence.
What is the typical salary range?+
Starting rate is $5.85/hr for full-time roles. As you build a track record on FilAm, clients can offer higher rates. Most experienced professionals earn $6–12/hr, which is 3–5× the local Philippine market for equivalent roles.
Do I work for FilAm or directly for the client?+
You're matched to a US client who becomes your primary working relationship. FilAm facilitates the match and processes payment - your day-to-day is with the client.
What timezone do I need to work in?+
Most clients ask for 4+ hours of overlap with US time zones (Eastern, Central, or Pacific). Many approved professionals in the Philippines work from 8pm–4am Manila time - but clients vary, so check each job posting.
Is work full-time or part-time?+
Both. Most roles listed are 40h/week. Some clients post 20h/week part-time contracts. You can filter by hours on the job board.

After You're Matched

What happens when a client is interested in me?+
You'll get a notification inside your FilAm dashboard. We'll share the job details and the client's expectations. If both sides confirm, we set up an intro call and move to contract.
What if the engagement doesn't work out?+
If things don't work out in the first 30 days, we'll try to rematch you to another client. After 30 days, engagements follow the agreed contract notice period (typically 2 weeks).
Can I work with multiple clients at once?+
Yes, as long as your primary client allows it (most do) and you can maintain quality across both. We allow up to 2 concurrent engagements per professional.
